Make the World a Better Place

He was the king of pop.

He had it all – talent, wealth and fame.

On the news this morning someone said, “His greatness was perfection.”
I want to take a moment to acknowledge Michael Jackson. He was an amazing singer, dancer and performer.

He had it all – talent, wealth and fame.

Yet, he still struggled.

One of my favorite songs by him is, “Man in the Mirror.”

The lyrics say, “If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.”
Happiness, prosperity and success is not found in what you have.

It’s in You.

As a tribute to Michael, search inside yourself.

What can you do today to facilitate a positive change in yourself?

You can make the world a better place…

We love you Michael!

Recognize Insanity

page 14 “The greatest achievement of humanity is not its works of art, science, or technology, but the recognition of its own dysfunction, its own madness.

In the distant of past, this recognition came to a few individuals. A man called Gautama Siddhartha, who lived 2,600 year ago in India, was perhaps the first who saw it with absolute clarity. Later, the title Buddha was conferred upon him. Buddha means “the awakened one.”

At about the same time, another of humanity’s early awakened teachers emerged in China. His name was Lao Tzu. He left a record of his teaching in the form of one of the most profound spiritual books ever written, the Tao Te Ching.

To recgonize one’s own insanity is, of course, the arising of sanity; the beginning of healing and trascendence.”

Be the Awareness

“Be aware that what you think, to a large extent, creates the emotions that you feel. See the link between your thinking and your emotions. Rather than being your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them.”

pg.96

Pain-Body

“At first sight it may seem that the pain-body is the greatest obstacle to the arising of a new consciousness in humanity. It occupies your mind, controls and distorts your thinking, disrupts your relationships, and feels like a dark cloud that occupies your entire energy field. It tends to make you unconscious, spiritually speaking, which means totally identified with mind and emotion. It makes you reactive, makes, you say and do things that are designed to increase the unhappiness within yourself and the world.

As unhappiness increases, however, it also causes increases disruption in your life. Perhaps the body can’t take the stress anymore and develops an illness or some dysfunction. Perhaps you become involved in an accident, some huge conflict situation or drama that was caused by the pain body’s desire for something bad to happen, or you become the perpetrator of physical violence. Or it all becomes too much and you cannot live with your unhappy self anymore. The pain-body, of course, is part of the false self.”

Transformation

Transformation takes time to occur. The inner state must change in order for change to be visible.

“Some rocks undergo a change in its molecular structure, turn into crystals, and so become transparent to light. Some carbons, under inconceivable heat and pressure, turn into diamonds and some heavy minerals into other precious stones.” (pg.3)

Recognize your inner state and be present to how you’re feeling now. If you want to see change in your outer world, you must change from within first. Allow the process to occur and don’t quit because you don’t see a change in your outter world.

How are you being?

Knowing Yourself

“Knowing yourself is being yourself, and being yourself is ceasing to identify with content. Most people define themselves through the content of their lives. Whatever you perceive, experience, do, think or feel is content.” – pg. 193.

Whoever you are being, is who you are.

Be yourself.

Personal Empowerment

Take a few moments to acknowledge great qualities about yourself (your eyes, smile, generosity, sense of humor, etc.)

Write down your 5 best qualities.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Then, pick one and circle it.

Every time you enter a room, focus on this one quality or characteristic. And, when self-doubt creeps in, think of this asset.

Focus your thoughts and your actions on a small piece of your greatness. Doing this will increase your personal power and enable you to to get the most out of your experience.

Be present to your best self.

Listen To Your Inner Voice

The ego limits you. It takes you away from what’s going on right Now. It tells you stories about the past and the future.

It might justify with stories you can’t have what you want with reasons. It tells you stories about your past failures.

Conversations of the ego makes it difficult to see what is going on in the present moment and it may cause you to lose focus. If your thoughts are racing fast, take a deep breath and tune into your “Inner Body.”

The voice of the ego can be loud and mean. Sometimes it might make fun of you. Don’t let it have power over you, and don’t believe what it says.

The inner voice is pure and good. Sometimes it’s hard for me to hear this voice (especially when the beast gets loud).

When you quiet you mind and listen to my inner voice – it guides you to the best response in every situation. This voice knows what to do and when to do it.

The inner voice doesn’t doubt, it’s trustworthy and has good intentions. It lets you be who are and allows you to be your best.

It knows exactly where you are and you are you are going. The voice is connected to your heart and soul. The inner voice is happy with you.

Then, the Ego gets quiet. You begin to hear your inner voice and trust yourself. It’s getting louder, and it’s healing me. This voice loves me and wants the best for me (and for others too).

You can have what you want if you listen to your inner voice and let it guide you.

Thank the ego for visiting and reminding I’m not my thoughts or who I think I am.

Step into the present moment and tune into your personal power now.

The inner essence is you and love who you are.

Stillness

We’re so active in our minds with repetitive ego (past and future) thoughts, it can be difficult to create space for stillness. When we let go of those thoughts, and open up a space- that is merging your being with the present moment. Creating space, allows room to give our full attention to be.

Rushing from activity to activity, not giving our full attention to anything may cause us to skip over things that are important.

“Most people’s lives are cluttered up with things: material things, things to do, things to think about.”

If you’re not fully there and you’re stuck in your thoughts – you won’t be able to accurately respond to the needs of the situation at the present moment.

We limit the quality of time we give things. Space is extremely important to connect to what is in front of you at the current moment and give it the appropriate attention necessary for growth. How often do we allow ourselves space? The space to just be, breathe, forgive, laugh, have fun – or whatever it might be. Let go of any thoughts that aren’t serving you. Moods, discomfort, feelings, gratitude, etc. are temporary and “This, too, will pass.” There is nothing you need to do, just experience these moments and free yourself to be with it.

“You are never more essentially, more deeply, yourself than when you are still. When you are still, you are who you were before you temporarily assumed this physical and mental form called a person. You are also who you will be when the form dissolves. When you are still, you are who you are beyond your temporal existence: consciousness—unconditioned, formless, eternal.”

Wanting things to happen instantly and not allowing the space for things to grow and evolve naturally is limiting.

“Once you see and accept the transience of all things and the inevitability of change, you can enjoy the pleasures of the world while they last without fear of loss or anxiety about the future. When you are detached, you gain a higher vantage point from which to view the events in your life instead of being trapped inside them.”

There is nothing you need to do. Allow yourself the space to be.
