Change Your Attitude to Gratitude

The holiday season is here and it might make you feel joy, stress or fear.

It could bring up family struggles and romantic relationship issues. You may feel bad about your unmet goals and think about what you want but don’t have now.

Your ego (your mind and awareness) tells you stories about your past and based on your interpretations of your past, you doubt yourself and worry about your future.

“What if I never have….?”

90% of our thinking is negative and we spend way too much energy thinking about what we don’t have.

Shift your thoughts to a positive perspective and be thankful for what you have in the present moment.

When you focus on what you have, you instruct the brain to look for information, resources and opportunities to be thankful now. Then, your mind will see more evidence of that every day, and you’ll find yourself having more to appreciate, satisfaction in relationships, and self growth.

Here’s a quote on gratitude by author, Melody Beattie: “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

You have the power to perceive the way in which you view the world. It’s time to change your attitude to gratitude.

Write down 3 specific things you are grateful for and e-mail it to me.

Give thanks and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Turn Over a New Leaf

As summer ends and autumn begins, the sun sets earlier and the days get shorter.

Trees prepare for winter as their leaves change colors and eventually fall to the ground.

Nature responds naturally to the changing seasons. Let today, the first day of fall, inspire you towards personal growth. It’s time to let go of what no longer serves you and take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Despite your desire to make positive changes, you may feel stuck in bad habits and resist making a change. So, stop resisting it and start taking action.

And, if you’re having trouble changing on your own, having a life coach will help you get where you want to be more quickly and easily.

As a life coach, I’ll cheer you on, give you feedback, reaffirm your commitment, and motivate you to create new habits. You’ll discover healthy ways to manage your life.

I’ll track your performance to enable you to accomplish your goals. Don’t wait any longer to start a new career, boost your self-confidence, have a body you love or improve your relationships.

Just as trees know how to prepare for winter, personal growth starts with you knowing you’re ready and willing to take a step forward to change your life.

Today starts a new season-a reason to let bad habits fall away.

Turn over a new leaf.

Make the World a Better Place

He was the king of pop.

He had it all – talent, wealth and fame.

On the news this morning someone said, “His greatness was perfection.”
I want to take a moment to acknowledge Michael Jackson. He was an amazing singer, dancer and performer.

He had it all – talent, wealth and fame.

Yet, he still struggled.

One of my favorite songs by him is, “Man in the Mirror.”

The lyrics say, “If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.”
Happiness, prosperity and success is not found in what you have.

It’s in You.

As a tribute to Michael, search inside yourself.

What can you do today to facilitate a positive change in yourself?

You can make the world a better place…

We love you Michael!

Recognize Insanity

page 14 “The greatest achievement of humanity is not its works of art, science, or technology, but the recognition of its own dysfunction, its own madness.

In the distant of past, this recognition came to a few individuals. A man called Gautama Siddhartha, who lived 2,600 year ago in India, was perhaps the first who saw it with absolute clarity. Later, the title Buddha was conferred upon him. Buddha means “the awakened one.”

At about the same time, another of humanity’s early awakened teachers emerged in China. His name was Lao Tzu. He left a record of his teaching in the form of one of the most profound spiritual books ever written, the Tao Te Ching.

To recgonize one’s own insanity is, of course, the arising of sanity; the beginning of healing and trascendence.”

Be the Awareness

“Be aware that what you think, to a large extent, creates the emotions that you feel. See the link between your thinking and your emotions. Rather than being your thoughts and emotions, be the awareness behind them.”

Pain-Body

“At first sight it may seem that the pain-body is the greatest obstacle to the arising of a new consciousness in humanity. It occupies your mind, controls and distorts your thinking, disrupts your relationships, and feels like a dark cloud that occupies your entire energy field. It tends to make you unconscious, spiritually speaking, which means totally identified with mind and emotion. It makes you reactive, makes, you say and do things that are designed to increase the unhappiness within yourself and the world.

As unhappiness increases, however, it also causes increases disruption in your life. Perhaps the body can’t take the stress anymore and develops an illness or some dysfunction. Perhaps you become involved in an accident, some huge conflict situation or drama that was caused by the pain body’s desire for something bad to happen, or you become the perpetrator of physical violence. Or it all becomes too much and you cannot live with your unhappy self anymore. The pain-body, of course, is part of the false self.”

Transformation

Transformation takes time to occur. The inner state must change in order for change to be visible.

“Some rocks undergo a change in its molecular structure, turn into crystals, and so become transparent to light. Some carbons, under inconceivable heat and pressure, turn into diamonds and some heavy minerals into other precious stones.” (pg.3)

Recognize your inner state and be present to how you’re feeling now. If you want to see change in your outer world, you must change from within first. Allow the process to occur and don’t quit because you don’t see a change in your outter world.

How are you being?
